The check and go website

The check and go website has been developed by the EU Project check and go - Barrier-free basis for people in companies. The check and go project aims to enhance the access of people with disabilities to workplaces. With the products developed in the project, people with disabilities will find it easier to apply for a trainee post or a job in a company. By constructing an individual profile of accessibility they will be able to say quickly and easily what barriers they face and what they need in order to do their job efficiently. In addition, companies that receive applications with this profile of accessibility will be able to see quickly whether the applicant fits the company. So it will be easier and quicker for people with disabilities to find a suitable job. 

With the check and go website, people with disabilities, companies, staff managers, trainers, instructors and job coaches can get a three-part product range about including or integrating people with disabilities at a workplace more efficiently. These products are: the training tool, the check and go tool and the advice tool.

The aims of the project can be summarized as follows:

• To enhance the communication and information between people with disabilities and companies, thereby establishing easier and quicker employer-employee relationships.
• To empower people with disabilities to say clearly what individual requirements they have regarding accessibility.
• To enable potential employers to check if those needs can be achieved or implemented in their company.
• To improve the quality standards for accessibility for people with disabilities in companies
• To make it easier for people with disabilities to apply for posts or study visits abroad.

The detailed target groups for the project are:

People with disabilities:

• People with learning disabilities (people with learning difficulties)
• People with physical impairments
• People with sensory impairments

Companies or other organisations:

• Small and medium-sized companies
• Large-scale enterprises
• Social organisations

Educational institutions and care centres for people with disabilities:

• Vocational training organisations
• Vocational counselling centres
• Organisations for integration and rehabilitation

Others:

• Job coaches,
• Job-assistants,
• Vocational advisers, support workers.

The Check and go project is promoted by the atempo company LLC working in partnership with 13 organisations, 28 test companies and 9 social partners throughout 7 European countries (Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Slovakia and Slovenia).
